Why I Do What I Do - (part four)

The last part of this series - part four:

I am SO blessed to be able to be home with my boys.  I know in this economy, that is not a simple task and I try not to take it for granted.  There are days when I know it might be easier for me and more "fulfilling" to work.  I would see projects completed, perhaps I might gain some recognition and appreciation for all my work.

But then I am reminded of the woman in Proverbs 31.  I sincerely hope one day all this time spent with my boys will be worth it to them!  I pray the time I spend reading, working on homework, building Legos, racing cars, going to the park, swimming, going on field trips and just being here for them will all be deemed worthy in God's eyes.  I pray my boys will someday know this wasn't so much a "sacrifice" on my part as it was an "investment" in their future and in God's kingdom.

I will probably eventually work more outside my home.  I may gain some recognition and even some appreciation.  But nothing will ever overshadow raising four boys to be godly men.

And THAT is why I do what I do.
