OUR Super Bowl Party

We decided to stay home this year instead of going to a Super Bowl Party.

Lately, Sundays have become "family" day at our house.  It is so nice to relax, not rush out anywhere, not try to cram in 10 more things for the weekend.

I promised the boys "party food" so we had spinach dip/pita chips, cheetos, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, baked cheese puffs, chicken nuggets, egg rolls with sweet/sour sauce, and brownies.  They got to drink something of their choice (they usually drink milk with dinner) so they chose gatorade.  We had football plates and napkins!

We had the game on and Greg and I spent some time answering questions.  Blake is recently decided he is interested in football.  I explained punting, kicking extra points and how that is different from a field goal.  Greg was explaining a safety.  We actually let Blake stay up and watch the whole thing but the other little guys went to bed at their normal time.

They didn't pay attention the whole time, but they played games and built with blocks and watched some of the game.  Their favorite commercial was the Doritos commercial where the grandma in the wheelchair slingshots the baby to grab the Doritos bag out of his taunting older brother's hands.  I am hoping they forget this and do not try to do this with their baby brother!!

How did you spend your Super Bowl?  Any good recipes to share?

  1. I love it! How appropriate that they chose gatorade for their Super Bowl dinner drink! It sounds like it was a fun time at your house for the game. I love that I get to keep up with your family through your blog! xoxox,
