Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!
Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
PRAISE THE LORD.
Luke 24
He Is Risen
1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them,[a] came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly[b] perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying[c] by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.
I told you earlier this week that there was a song I sang once in an
Easter musical that I was going to share with you today. The song
is "I've Just Seen Jesus" and it was in the musical "Then Came the
Morning" by Bill & Gloria Gaither. It is a beautiful song. Larnelle
Harris sang it with Sandi Patti at some point.
If you want to hear it, you can click here.
Can you even IMAGINE how Mary and the other women felt that
morning? Can you just picture Peter's face when he saw those
strips of linen laying on the slat? Can you imagine hearing the
angels say, "He is not here! He is RISEN!"
Suddenly all the fear and doubts of the night before dissipated.
All the words he had spoken to them, they remembered! I am
sure they equally felt a desire to see him IMMEDIATELY.
What about you? Do you desire to see Him IMMEDIATELY?
Consider some of the words of this song - "All that I'd done
before won't matter anymore". Does that resonate
with you today? Are you CHANGED by seeing Christ?
Are you "never going to be the same again" because you
know Him? I pray that is true for all of us. Easter is not
just about today, the Resurrection of our Lord. Easter is
about celebrating EVERY SINGLE DAY that not only is HE
resurrected, but that because we are his followers, we can
boast in the same power of resurrections. We can look forward
to the day when He will return and claim HIS church! Do we live
in this power? Do we really cling to that hope?
I don't know about you, but I am trying.
I've just seen Jesus and I'll never be the same again
I've Just Seen Jesus lyrics
We knew He was dead, it is finished, He said
We had watched as His life ebbed away
Then we all stood around till the guards took Him down
Joseph begged for His body that day
It was late afternoon when we got to the tomb
Wrapped His body and sealed up the grave
So I know how you feel, His death was so real
But please listen and hear what I says.
I've just seen Jesus, I tell you He's alive
I've just seen Jesus, our precious Lord alive
And I knew He really saw me too
As if till now I'd never lived
All that I'd done before won't matter anymore
I've just seen Jesus and I'll never be the same again
It was His voice she first heard, those kind gentle words
Asking what was her reason for tears
And I sobbed in despair, my Lord is not there
He said, Child, it is I, I am here
I've just seen Jesus, I tell you He's alive
I've just seen Jesus, our precious Lord alive
And I knew He really saw me too
As if till now I'd never lived
All that I'd done before won't matter anymore
I've just seen Jesus, I've just seen Jesus
I've just seen Jesus
All that I'd done before won't matter anymore
I've just seen Jesus
And I'll never be the same again
I've just seen Jesus
I pray you are blessed today by the remembrance of His death and Resurrection.
HE'S ALIVE!!!!!
