This past month he has decided to become very mobile. He is up on his hands and knees, rocking back and forth, scooting, inchworming, lunging, sort of crawling - whatever it takes to get where he wants to be. He will go after items placed just out of his reach. He likes to look at books and be read to by Mommy, Daddy and big brothers. He loves when I sing to him. Everything he grabs automatically goes to his mouth at this point. His brothers are learning quickly to keep their toys put up out of his reach.
He enjoys riding in his stroller, sitting in the exersaucer, swinging and playing on his butterfly. He has tried most vegetables and fruits in the baby food department. We've tried the puffs snacks. He is still not sure about those. He is still taking two naps a day - one is from 11-1 and the other from about 3-5. Occasionally he'll take a cat nap after dinner. He goes down around 8 or 8:30, I feed him again at 10:30 and he sleeps until 9 am.
Here are some recent pictures of our little guy:
This was on a Sunday after church and he just couldn't seem to hold his head up any longer!
This sweet face was so precious, I had to snap a picture. He was asleep on my chest, which hardly ever happens anymore. He had been fussy that night and Greg and I were watching a movie and he fell asleep like this.
These two pictures in the jean overalls were on the day he was actually 8 months old. Such a cutie pie! As you can see below, he is ON THE MOVE!
This was at the Lexington Legends game with friends. We had a box to sit in and a whole lot of boys! Jake was just chilling and taking his bottle.
Sitting in Mommy's lap
Jake loves his high chair and makes a lot of noise if he is ready to eat!
Another smiley pose - he loves his butterfly, but is branching out to the baskets of toys and any thing else he can get his hands on right now!
Carter asked to hold Jake and I had to take a picture. It was too sweet!
It looks like Jake is watching Noah play his video game :) I sat him beside Noah for a second to do something and thought this was too cute!
Jake has two funny habits - one is spitting or "blowing raspberries" as some call it. The other is sucking on his tongue. If he can't get a paci or his fingers, he just sucks on his own tongue. It is funny to watch!
We are so BLESSED by Jake. Noah is hoping he turns out "just like him" and that he will be "hilarious". Mommy is not too sure about either of those things. I just pray he stays healthy and happy!
