Happy Easter and hand-me-downs

First, let me begin by saying I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter. We had services every night this week at our church and we were able to get to two of them.
Greg and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on Tuesday by going out to dinner at a local restaurant (a big shout out to my friend Tara and her husband Bo for surprising us and watching our kiddos).
Thursday I was watching Jen's girls so she could be a part of the drama for our church's Seder meal/Last Supper re-enactment. I have heard MANY good things about that.
Friday night we went out to Greg's parent's house to color eggs. This is one of Greg's mom's favorite things to do with the boys. We had a great time and experimented with some new things this year. I have some pictures -

Saturday Greg ran the Papa John's 10 mile race in Louisville. I believe he finished 160th out of 6500+. I know his time was just under 1 hour 10 minutes. Then I went to Easter choir rehearsal and came home to RUN SIX MILES myself! I went down by the Capital. The tulips, dogwoods and cherry trees were blooming and beautiful. The day was gorgeous! We topped that off with going to church for a "silent" service - Christ was in the tomb on Saturday.

Easter Sunday began with a bang! Greg and I both had to be at the 8:30 and 11 services and Greg had to work the sunrise service. I had to get myself and all three boys up and dressed and at church by 8am. I know this is not a big deal to some - but for me it was an amazing feat. I also got to have a big Mt. Dew to celebrate Easter (since I gave them up for Lent). Worship at our church on Sunday was INCREDIBLE!!!!! Thank you Lord for meeting us there. The kids did great being at both services and we took some pictures between out on the porches. Here is a picture of our family together!

That evening we went back to Greg's parents for dinner and an egg hunt in their yard. The boys had a blast! My favorite part was when we each went around the table before dinner and said what we were thankful for- it was nice to hear everyone say that!
My funny quote from the day is by Noah (imagine that!). He ran up to Kayla (one of his favorite babysitters) at church and said, "KAYLA - look at my new sandals! They didn't even come from my brother!". I guess that is a nice way of saying he gets a LOT of hand me downs from Blake and his cousin, Carter. That is just part of being a "middle" child!

Enjoy your week - we are on Spring Break :)
