For Such a Time as This

Today I wrapped up two semesters of a study with the bible study group I lead at church called Mommy Time. It is directed towards moms of children elementary school or younger. Since we meet in the mornings, it is also primarily directed at stay at home moms. This year we delved into a study of the book of Esther. As my guide, I used Beth Moore's bible study of the book of Esther. I have learned SO much!
It is amazing to see how the story of Esther actually impacts us. Without her willingness to stand up and do what was right for the Jewish people, they would have been complete destroyed. Haman was a Persian version of Hitler. Fortunately, God intervened and they were spared. Today, in the last day of the story, Beth highlighted how descendants of the Jews spared by Esther and Mordecai in Susa were among those there on the day of Pentecost. Is that not amazing?
God is always at work. He has an amazing plan for each life and desperately seeks a relationship with us. How blessed I am to serve a loving and methodical God!
It is exhilarating and overwhelming to consider what God might have in store for me. I may not be the Queen of Persia, but God has also called me, "for such a time as this". My everyday decisions and example to my children is equally important as Esther's decision to take that next obedient step. I can only hope and pray that I follow him and that he gives me discernment to know when he is calling me to step forward.
