The weekend is here...

The boys' school had a cleaning day today and asked parents/families/staff to come in and help make the facility look nice for the Enrollment Open House tomorrow afternoon. I decided to go and took Blake with me. He and a friend, Clara, washed baseboards and mopped floors. They helped clean the water fountains and he vacuumed my office. He did a great job! There were many families there helping out and it was fun. It is just another example of why I love that school and am so grateful that God continues to provide for us and for them to continue to go there.
On the home front, we went to eat at QDoba last night with friends. Good food and good times were had by all! Then Greg and I decided to run to Kohl's. We are looking for a spring jacket for Blake. There is a REASON why I do not typically take all three boys shopping! Even with Greg, it was an adventure going in there. I always end up deciding to leave without purchasing anything. It it just too hard to look for clothing for myself with them there. We did not find a windbreaker for Blake either. That is the third store I have tried to no avail.
When we did finally get home it was bedtime for the boys and time for Greg and I to just relax!
My lovely husband let me sleep until 9 this morning - HALLELUJAH! Then I hit the ground running making a grocery list, going to the grocery, and running in a clothing store to find a new shirt for date night tonight :) (I mean it really is amazing how a new shirt or piece of jewelry can make a girl feel!). I got home and brought in the groceries, grabbed Blake and ran back out to the school. We cleaned there in the preschool area and my office for a little more than an hour and came home. Then I took off for my daily run. I didn't run as far as I would like to, but I figure something is better than nothing, right?
I am now sitting here writing as all three boys are lined up at the kitchen table, playing with Legos. We are currently trying to combat Andy's use of the word "mine". He has recently started using it and it drives me insane!!! Noah thinks it is funny and says it on purpose so Andy will repeat it. Blake is the squealer who has to tell me everytime Andy uses it (even when I am currently in the same room!). Blake is building something elaborate. Noah is trying to build something smaller but getting frustrated because he does not want Andy to build beside him. Andy just wants to do whatever the other two are doing. Sometimes I just have to laugh - they are simply comical.
I did have a great moment at the grocery today. There is a lady who works the U-Scan there. She is a middle-aged, African-American woman who is funny and LOUD. When I was pregnant with Andy she would yell at me across the store and say things like "you haven't had that baby yet?" or "that baby is going to drop out here in the store!". I would try to hide from her, but she'd always see me and say things. I probably haven't seen her in 3 months or so and she was working today. When I pulled the cart up to check out, she looked at me and looked away. I thought surely she'd say something. Then she looked again and realized it was me and said, "I didn't hardly know that was you! Have you lost weight? You look great - I hardly recognized you!" I mean - BUY THAT LADY SOME FLOWERS!!!! She made my day. I responded that I don't pay as much attention to the scale and the pounds I have lost as I do to the way my clothing fits. She agreed with me and proceeded to tell me a funny story about a dress she had and how it didn't fit and then she lost some weight and it did. I will not attempt to tell it as she did - I could not begin to tell it with the same expression and gusto that she did. It was hilarious and I found myself chuckling as I left the store. What a needed laugh!
All of this has occurred before 2 pm. We still have a full day/night. I am getting the boys' things together to go spend the night with Grandpa and Grandma. Greg and I are going to Louisville out to eat with 15 other couples from church. One of the gals' husbands has planned a surprise 30th birthday party for her at a little restaurant I've never been to - Ramsi's Cafe on the World. After that, we actually get to come home to a silent house :)
Tomorrow will be full as well with church and the Open House at school. Then we get to start all over again on Monday! For now, I am going to try to keep chuckling at my Kroger lady :)
