Background info: Jake had ear tubes put in last December and we discovered he had some mild hearing loss because of repetitive ear infections. The ENT doctor said what he had heard the last several months had probably sounded like being underwater.
We hoped he would regain hearing (which he did) and begin speaking and mimicking us.
Fast forward back to September-
Jake was only saying about 5 words well. Our pediatrician gave me the number for first steps and encouraged me to wait three months before calling them.
I agreed.
By November, he was talking a lot more. He was starting to put two or three words together like, "go bye bye mommy's car".
Now we cannot get him to STOP talking. He is full of questions, he is stringing together multiple words into sentences. Tonight he just sat and named all but maybe 6 of these flash cards. I was impressed.
Greg and I look at each sometimes and wonder why we wished he would talk so much in the first place :)
