Day 19 of Thankfulness - Pumpkin Pie

There are few desserts in this world that I can say I LOVE.

Pumpkin pie is one of them.  Making them is something I enjoy doing and it signals the start to my favorite time of year - late fall into winter.  I adore Thanksgiving-Christmas seasons.  I love the time spent reflecting on God's faithfulness.  I ADORE buying gifts for people I love.  I relish adopting children from the Angel Tree or other ministries our church connects with to adopt.  All of these are activities I look forward to all year long.

Tonight I made pumpkin pies for the middle school/high school students lunch tomorrow at our school.  We are surprising them with desserts tomorrow made by all the teachers/staff.  Of course, Blake wanted to know if I made these for us.  I promised that I was making pumpkin pie on Wednesday for our Thanksgiving meal with my family on Thursday.  He'll get plenty of pie :)

Greg's mom usually makes pecan pie, pumpkin pie and German chocolate cake.  She makes it all from scratch - crust and all.  I cheat - I buy the crust!  But I think it is just as good and it saves me time.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dessert?  Is there a food that says "Thanksgiving" to you?
