First Day of School 2012-13

I have NO IDEA how it happened, but summer zoomed by us and here we are.  Everyone had their first day of school.  Noah and Andy were excited this morning.  In fact, we didn't wake Andy up - he was awake when Greg got out of the shower!  He was excitedly eating his cereal when I go up.  Noah and Blake required more "encouragement" to get out of bed!  We had backpacks ready and lunchboxes on standby last night!

I took the required photographs in front of the door and the big tree outside.  Blake did not want to take pictures.

Once at school, Blake and Noah went to the multi-purpose room to wait for their teachers to pick up their class.  Greg and I walked Andy to his room and saw that he settled in with his class.  He readily hung up his backpack and began coloring.

I went and snapped a photo of Blake and Noah in their classrooms (of course Blake didn't know I was doing this!).

At 11 o'clock, I picked Andy up and he was a chatterbox the remainder of the afternoon!  We built his HUGE Thomas lego set while Jake napped.  He seemed as excited to have Mommy all to himself after a summer of sharing me with his brothers, as he was about preschool!  I am excited about time alone with he and Jake during the day, too!  It is nice to get to interact and teach and play with them one on one!

I asked Andy if he made any new friends and he said yes.  I asked if he knew their names and he said no.  He told me he went to the gym and ran, he played on the playground, he listened to a silly story, he colored a picture, Mrs. Tammy read a story and he played.  He ate his snack and wanted to know why he didn't eat lunch at school.  I could barely keep him awake going to get Blake and Noah after school!

Blake got in the car and was smiling!!!!  He said he thought this was going to be a really great year - this is HUGE!  He loves switching classes (something new) and his friends are in his classes.  He went to art today, which he also enjoys, and had an extra recess.

Noah, on the other hand, entered the car and immediately said it was "the worst day ever of my life".  He was upset and said he wanted to know why everyone kept treating him like he'd been at that school FOREVER, "like 23 years" and kept saying he was a "big kid now".  He wouldn't tell me one thing he liked about the day.  Once he got home and sulked a few minutes, he decided on his own to start working on a poster he has to do for Monday, "All About Me".  This is going to be an INTERESTING year!

I do not think anyone will have any trouble going to sleep tonight - including ME!  I know tomorrow morning may be more of a task to waken sleepy heads from their warm and cozy beds.
