Vacation Recovery Mode

We were fortunate enough to go on two vacations back to back. (The perks of generous grandparents!)

First, we left last Friday, July 1 and drove down to Lake Barkley to stay with Greg's parents for the holiday weekend. We took the boys to Venture River water park one day. We went out on the lake the other day. We celebrated Blake's 8th birthday and Grandpa's birthday on Sunday, July 3 and saw two firework displays Saturday and Sunday evenings. The boys had a great time playing with their grandparents, throwing rocks in the lake and swimming.

On Monday, July 4, we got in the car and drove 11+ hours to meet up with all of my family at Edisto Beach, SC. Edisto is about 35 miles south of Charleston and we've been going there for the past six years. My parents rented two separate houses and we ended up in the one on the beach with them. My two sisters stayed across the street in the other house.

I haven't had a chance to upload pictures from our trips yet, so when I do (hopefully tonight) I will post some here. The boys had a great time and we had perfect weather! We spent time at the beach, played putt-putt and swam in the pools. The boys got to ride their scooters and bikes and look for shells at low tide. We played games and enjoyed "family time".

The SAD part is now we are home. I have spent all day today doing laundry, unpacking bags, toys, beach towels, food and more. I inadvertently left a package of chicken in the fridge while we were gone and it stunk up my kitchen. I spent an hour and a half today scrubbing. cleaning and deodorizing my fridge :)

I always think the first few days home from vacation are hard. I was spoiled having Greg with me the whole time! We relaxed, read books, played some games and our biggest decision was pool vs. beach! Now that I am home I am back to reality. I am in full on panic mode that we have only four weeks until school starts and only TEN more weeks until this baby is going to be here!!!!

I thought of so many topics for my blog on vacation - so I hope to be on top of it this week. Look for my posts :) Pray I don't blow a gasket stressing over all that needs to be done!
