Getting Ready for Baby

As the days tick off the calendar, we get closer and closer to our new little one's arrival.  At the beginning of the summer I had a post talking about all the things I knew we had to get done in preparation for the baby.  I can now mark several things off of that list!!

Greg finished the remodel on the boys' room downstairs right before he left for China for two weeks (he has been back for a week now).  We still have a few touches to add to their room, including a built in desk along one wall.  I promise when we have it done, we will put some pics up!

Since he has been home, he has primed and painted the baby's room.  He is just finishing the trim paint.  I hope to get the baby bed put back together and in there tonight!

Last night, we ventured to the baby store to pick out an infant car seat.  We've been looking online and trying to find one that will be compatible with the stroller we already have.  There were no patterns out there to match, but I found a car seat I liked.  Since we don't know the gender of the baby, we were trying to stay away from one that was too girly or masculine.  I really liked the patter on the one we picked.  It is by Graco and the pattern is called Maddox.  Here is a picture of it:





The colors are chocolate brown, lighter greens and blues.  I really like the different circle patterns on it.  Greg said he thinks it is a little "girly", so we will see if we stick with it or not.  If we have another boy, he may be taking it back and exchanging it while we are in the hospital!

I have been doing a lot of other things around the house - "nesting" they call it.  I'll share some of those organizational preparations soon!
