We had our BIG ultrasound today. All is well with the baby and everything was normal. He/She is roughly 11 ounces and I saw the 4 chambered heart, kidneys, brain, etc. At the beginning of the ultrasound, the baby was laying on its back, bottom up in the air with its feet up over the head. Contortionist? Gymnast? We'll see!
Towards the end of the session (which took almost an hour because of the lack of cooperation on the baby's part), the tech asked if I wanted to know the gender. I told her we were unsure, but that I'd like her to write it down and put the paper in an envelope for me. Greg was not there with me and I didn't want to find out without him. If we chose to open it later, we'd find out together. She laughed and said she has done that before.
She started trying to get a good look at the baby and said "I don't think I can tell the gender".
I asked why and she said, "Well, the baby's not cooperating. The legs are together and feet are crossed. The umbilical cord is right between the legs. I just don't want to guess and be wrong!".
So, I took that as an answer to my question about whether to find out the gender or not. The ultrasound tech and the doctor both apologized, but I said, "I guess this was how it was meant to be!"
The doctor said I will have another ultrasound at some point and will probably be able to find out then, but more than likely, we will not know if this is a baby girl or boy until he/she arrives!

I don't know how I missed this but I didn't know you were pregnant! It doesn't surprise me though I figured you might have another one. :) When is this sweet thing due?
